Residential steel-edge doors can hold a 90-minute rating. Residential wood-edge doors can hold a 20-minute rating. The unit rating depends on all components, not just the door rating. 90-Minute Fire-Rated
Steel edge steel doors are designed with a full steeledge perimeter creating a sturdier steel door. These doors are insulated with a polyurethane core and are available with a 90-minute fire rating when used with a 90-minute fire-rated frame.
 
Reeb’s stock of steel edge doors cannot have custom hinge and bore locations. All hinge, bore, and strike prep is completed by the factory and in accordance with fire safety codes.

20-Minute Fire-Rated
Therma-Tru’s line of 20-minute rated doors look very similar to other designs available, however the construction of these doors differs slightly.
 
They still have a polyurethane foam core but it is fire-rated to withstand 20 minutes of fire exposure. The edges are made of laminated veneer lumber for increased rigidity and stability. The doors have a pass through hinge mortise.

Therma-Tru 90-Minute Steel-Edge Doors must be paired with the Therma-Tru Split Steel frame and Therma-Tru 90-Minute Hardware.
 
Reeb Specialty Products 90-Minute Steel-Edge Doors have two frame options. For a 90-Minute Fire-Rated Unit, the doors must be paired with the RSP Split Steel Frame and RSP 90-Minute Hardware. For a sturdier door, the doors can be paired with the Therma-Tru 20-Minute Frame and Hardware.
 
Therma-Tru 20-Minute Fiberglass or Steel Wood-Edge Doors have two frame options. For a split frame option, the doors can be paired with the RSP Split Steel Frame and RSP 90-Minute Hardware. For a single rabbeted frame, the doors can be paired with the Therma-Tru 20-Minute Frame and Hardware.
